Baby Hair Bow Storage

March 7, 2018

I know I know, it seems silly to have an entire post dedicated to this topic, but I recently changed how I store Caroline's bows and it's made a huge difference!  I got the idea from my good friend Kady (@thekadycam on Instagram) and it's a million times better than having a bunch of bows just thrown into a basket (my previous method).

I've had this acrylic necklace stand for ages (made "famous" (lol) by a photo of my jewelry tray from my Home Tour on the Everygirl in 2014) and it was just taking up space on my night stand storing necklaces I never wear since I'm a stay-at-home mom living in super casual Hawaii.  I brought it into Caroline's room and now use it to display all the bows for the current season/holiday, as well as my favorites that are on heavy rotation.  It's so nice to be able to see all of them without digging through a basket to find the exact one I'm looking for.  And when I'm in a rush I'll just drop the used bows on a large shell that I use as a tray.  Makes it look more tidy than if I just placed them on the bookshelf :)

As for all of the other bows, I simply hung some clear 3M cord clips on the back of her door (any type of hook would likely work, this is just the kind I had on hand) and used some wooden kebob skewers I had in a drawer in the kitchen.  I grouped them loosely by color and season and it's such a great (space saving) way to store the rest of her bows.  The larger headband bows are still in the basket but they aren't buried at the bottom of a bunch of little bows, which is nice.

Most of the bows are from Little Poppy Co.Belle and Bug Bows (owned by a fellow military spouse named Heather who is super sweet) and Modern Piggy.  I also just ordered 7 off of Etsy and am so excited for them to get here.  I've been on the hunt for a simple navy linen one, and a nautical striped navy blue and white one (I got this thin striped blue and white one too) and I finally found some that I love...and then some!  4 of the new bows are from She's More on Etsy and I think this may be my new favorite bow shop.  The designs are gorgeous and exactly what I was looking for and the packaging is perfect for gifting!  See photo below:

Oh and I'm not sure if you noticed the print behind the bow holder but a sweet follower sent me the month of September from her 2017 Rifle Paper Co. calendar!  It's the month Caroline was born and I think it's a sweet little addition to her room.

  2. I love that Rifle hair bow; what a sweet touch! This is such a great idea, and I might do something similar for my daughter. She's 2, so not thrilled with keeping bows on, but maybe this would motivate her!

    1. Thanks Leslie! Caroline has 3 Rifle paper hair bows and they're some of my favorites. And I totally get it, I have a feeling it's going to be more and more difficult to keep bows on her as she gets older!

  3. I need to figure out better organization for Emme's headbands because right now they're all just crammed in a basket. But I like the wider headbands for her so they take up a lot more space. I love the idea of the necklace holder though! Those are so easy to find at discount stores like TJ Maxx/Homegoods and Ross.
